Hambela Buliye - Ethiopian Dry Process Coffee

Introducing our latest lot from the high-altitude village of Buliye in Hambela, Ethiopia, where coffee cultivation is an art passed down through generations. This exceptional coffee comes from the Buno Buliye station, sitting at an impressive 2195 meters above sea level. With a small production scale, this lot represents about a third of the station’s entire output last year, sourced from several hundred smallholder farmers, each tending to only a few hundred coffee trees intercropped with local staples like “false banana.”

The dry process method used here is the oldest and most traditional, involving meticulous attention to detail. The coffee cherries are spread out in shallow layers, turned frequently to ensure even drying, and carefully monitored to prevent defects. The result is a Grade 1 quality coffee that reflects the dedication and care of the Hambela farmers.

Expect a cup that is both rich and complex, showcasing the unique flavors that only come from such high-altitude, small-scale production. This is Ethiopian coffee at its finest, from a community that pours heart and soul into every bean.
